Child Minding Services

Philosophy

The greatest challenge is raising children who will have the intellectual and creative capacity to deal with the changes as they occur. The evidence from neural science research shows that the foundations for this capacity are very important in the first six years of each child.  We believe it is the responsibility of early childhood professionals to work together with families to ensure that the children born today have the ability, imagination and capacity to thrive in the face of all the challenges to come. In particular, we are committed to ensuring a deep understanding of cultural divides among the current populace of Australia.

Our Values and Goals

To provide communities, parents and caregivers with a simple to use tool that will help them make the most of developmental opportunities as they arise in the first six years of child life in children's service. Furthermore, to bridge the gap across the cultural differences.

  • Each child is valued and respected as an individual
  • To extend and develop each child's skills, knowledge and interests through successful experiences which encourage the development of a healthy self-concept and positive self-esteem, in particular with cross-cultural information.
  • To encourage social development so each child learns to interact successfully in a variety of situations with a multicultural environment.
  • To be sensitive and respectful of varied cultural and religious practices
  • To provide an environment that encourages children to develop their capabilities and interests at their own pace and according to their individual needs
  • To provide a warm, nurturing and safe environment that encourages the development of the whole child
  • To be a support to all families in all aspects of each child's development
  • To provide qualified, experienced and caring staff to meet the needs of all children in our care and within the expected boundaries and legalities.
  • Equality of access

Day Care Chadstone

Room for under 3 years

Catering to individual needs, the children can explore their environment through sensory experiences such as finger paint, play dough, water play and sand. Their language is encouraged with books, story time, and conversation. Physical skills are extended through drawing, climbing and building, and their thinking skills promoted through puzzles, sorting and dramatic play.

Toddlers are orientated into the room on readiness rather than age and this is something we do with consultation with parents, if we believe they need more stimulation. The routine in this room is completely individual for young children.

Room for 3 - 5 years

Our program focuses a lot on the natural environment with play spaces set up using as many natural materials as possible. Self help skills are encouraged and promoted, and all interests noted and extended. Dramatic play an area where the children have input to the types of materials they want to use for creative work.
